Commissioning A Portrait |
When inquiring about a portrait of your horse, or another horse painted from a photograph, we'll discuss the characteristics of the horse, his talents or achievements, the memories you wish to keep by having the portrait done, and any other particular aspects. We'll also discuss where you might hang the portrait, available wall space, and the funds you wish to spend. This helps me guide you in choosing the right size, as well as how best I can present your horse in the painting to make the portrait a unique, beautiful work of art. All portraits are painted on fine portrait linen. I work from photographs, preferably those I take myself, but can work from others if acceptable for enlargement and sharpness. After the details of the portrait have been discussed, and a commitment has been established, a contract in duplicate will be sent to the client before commencement. A 50% deposit will be placed on account. Upon receipt of the contract and deposit, the portrait will be scheduled and the necessary photographs arranged. Portraits are delivered varnished, and can be framed if desired at the client's expense prior to shipment. Additional expenses of crating, shipping and insurance are reimbursed to the artist by the client. Upon delivery, the balance, plus any expenses, is due upon receipt. Digital images can be taken during the interim of the painting so the client can see the progress. To the right is a list of sizes and corresponding fees. Thank you for your interest! |
